60’ GEODESIC DOME SHELL KIT- Economical, Energy Efficient and Strong
This is a large building (2800 square feet on the ground, 30 feet to ceiling) which needs no interior walls to support the roof and would be suitable for a large house on two floors, a barn, a small church, or meeting hall. The entire exterior can be assembled on your foundation in a week with a small group of unskilled workers; our pictures show amateurs learning.
Asking $52,000 - 10% less than current manufacturer’s price. Components are ready to ship to your building site or you can pick it up in Minnesota with your own truck.
Domes are economical, energy efficient, strong (able to survive hurricanes and tornados) and can be owner built. The dome’s spherical shape is the key to a dome's energy efficiency. A sphere has the least surface area for a given interior living space. Less surface area means less energy loss (gain during summer). Winds flow smoothly over a dome. This minimizes pressure differences from side to side resulting in less air leakage. The open floor plans are also ideal for heating/coolingEnclosing the largest volume with the least amount of exposed are enable it to be the most efficient use of space materials and energy. Low maintenance
Built by Natural Spaces Domes, which has been building and selling domes for 35 years, the manufacturer is readily available for support during construction, for design changes and further materials supply.
Shell kit consists of precut geodesic frame structure and base with all connecting hardware (stainless steel, suitable for seacoast areas) attached to struts, exterior sheathing and fasteners, several skylights and construction manual. The kit materials do not include several sections of exterior wall, floors, interior walls or roofing.
